Meatball
Meatball is a dramatic comedy that follows Cece as she comes out to her traditional Italian-American family during a Sunday dinner. It's an exploration of clashing perspectives in a rapidly changing world. Cece isn't estranged from her family, but she certainly sees life through a different lens, one shaped by modernity in contrast to the traditional values of her family. Characters like Uncle Joe resist change, not out of cruelty, but because their world has always operated a certain way, and that way has always worked for them. That is until, someone they love disrupts that familiar rhythm. While Uncle Joe may not have the words or tools to navigate it gracefully, he tries: stubbornly, assertively, but earnestly. At its heart, Meatball is a portrait of a family that may not function conventionally, but is held together by love. And in their messy, imperfect way, they find a path to understanding.
