A legend has long circulated in the martial arts world about a peddler who forged the indestructible Zhanlu sword and would lend it to any "destined" person he encountered. Twenty-three years ago, the peddler lent the Zhanlu sword to a young man in dire straits. With this sword, the young man became the fearsome "Sword Maniac." Three years later, the peddler reappeared to reclaim the Zhanlu sword, but the Sword Maniac, obsessed with it, had broken his promise. The peddler left a prophecy: the Zhanlu sword would kill the Sword Maniac's beloved. Ultimately, this led to the death of his wife and the separation of his children. The enlightened Sword Maniac went into hiding, living a life of aimless wandering for twenty years. Until he met Xiahou Ling, a girl who, like a warm ray of light, illuminated his ashes. When Xiahou Ling faced a life-or-death crisis, he finally mustered the courage to take up the Zhanlu sword once more. The Sword Maniac has returned to the martial world, and the prophecy of the Swordsman will once again come true. The gears of fate turn once more, and the Sword Maniac will make a choice once more.
