Cascade

At dawn, two young fishermen, eager to catch wild trout, make their way along a narrow, winding path that leads down to a remote and untamed river. The first light of day filters through the trees, glimmering on the dew-covered grass. A pale mist clings to the undergrowth and hovers above the water, giving the whole valley an air of mystery, as though the world itself is holding its breath. The faint song of birds mingles with the soft murmur of the current, and every sound seems sharper in the cool morning air. When they finally reach the riverbank, the two friends pause for a moment in silence, taking in the beauty of the scene. Then they begin to prepare their rods with the meticulous gestures of those who have spent many early mornings by the water. After a few casts, one of them, perhaps a little too confident, flicks his wrist with a touch of impatience. The line flies out, before suddenly jerking to a stop. The lure has snagged on a branch that juts out just above the surface of the river. A sigh escapes him, half frustration, half disbelief. That lure, a small, brightly colored spinner that had brought him luck in the past, now hangs uselessly above the current. Greedy and stubborn, he refuses to let it go. With a grin, he negotiates with his companion, convincing him to help recover the precious bait. Laughing, they step carefully closer to the edge, their boots sinking slightly into the damp soil. Yet beneath the calm of the morning, the river watches silently. In a few short moments, the two young men will realize that nature always has the final word.
