Der Kommissar

A German police procedural television series with Kommissar Herbert Keller as its main character. Each episode has its own group of suspects, and the Kommissar has to figure out what happened by sheer reasoning. Several assistants of the Kommissar are entrusted with collecting the evidence for their boss and doing most of the legwork. The settings for the episodes often include seedy pubs, nightclubs, and discotheques, which are depicted as meeting places for drug addicts and sex workers. Keller has the eccentric habit of addressing both his subordinates and his work colleagues (of various ranks) with informal pronouns typically used for family members and close friends.
